Share lessons..
Since I got many problems with my computers, I thought I want to share lotsa info I gathered from the net, after a little bit researching..
1) I've learned that attempting to physically move a hard drive (HD) from a computer to another computer is actually not a good idea. I was told that the HD might be configured in a different way in the old computer than in the new one - which probably explains why my HD does not work right now. But if you still wish to move your HD to another computer, you might want to back up your file first.
2) Also it is always a good idea to partition your large HD (like 100> or something)into smaller partitions. I was told that the safest size would probably be 32GB per drive. But heck who wanna do that? Considering the partition size is too small, I usually heard people create about 40 or 80 GB per drive/partition or whatever (if ya know what am I talking about). Well you make the decision. The good thing about partitioning is you can format each of your drive independently instead of the whole HD. That means the quicker you can get to format your HD. Also if you screwed up one drive, the data in the other drive would still be safe.
-I did not partition my HD which probably explains why I end up unsuccesfully formatting my HD.
3) There is a limit to the size of storage device the motherboard can support. You have to know what the limit of your motherboard. I do not know mine. But I think it can support big HD. Because my HD ran perfectly in my comp before it crashed. I think newer motherboards tend to support larger HD.
4) Learn! Well it is easy to just buy and play. But it is good to learn and know too. Maybe you can figure how to fix your machine on your own. Don't wait to get help from others. Help yourself first. Save some time.
5) Get experts among family members, friends or anybody close to you. This is the final option when you can't help yourself.
